Bernard Allotey Jacobs and Johnson Asiedu Nketia
The former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has described the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia as arrogant and undisciplined.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs has in recent times renewed attacks on Mr Asiedu Nketia, describing him as an arrogant person who is unfit to continuously serve as a leader in the NDC.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs has spiritedly been campaigning against the re-election of Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito.
He earlier urged delegates of the party to vote against Mr. Asiedu Nketia in the NDC’s upcoming elections.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokooo Morning Show on Wednesday, Mr Allotey Jacobs disclosed that Mr Asiedu Nketia rudely took the microphone from the party’s National Chairman, Kofi Portuphy at a meeting for NDC executives sometime back.
He claimed Mr. Asiedu Nketia lacks respect for leadership.
Answering a question as to whether he supports Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho, Mr. Allotey Jacobs said, “I am not part of his [Koku] campaign, but I know Koku; I believe that Asiedu Nketiah is an undisciplined person…there are two of them contesting, I will prefer Koku [Anyidoho].”
He added “I’ve declared to support Koku Anyidoho, but I’m not part of his campaign. But I’ve worked with him since 2006 and the sort of work we did to support late Prof. Mills to win the 2008 elections; it’s only Ambassador Victor Smith who can speak to this issue.”
He fumed: “Asiedu Nketiah is very arrogant. He’s undisciplined…he’s a hypocritical person.”
Mr. Allotey Jacobs added “I have a lot of things to say about Asiedu Nketia at the right time and he knows that I (Allotey Jacobs) will say it as it is. Asiedu Nketia’s time is up; he must go.
Mosquito Not Bothered!
Interestingly, Mr. Asiedu Nketia has decided not to respond to comments by Mr. Allotey Jacobs.
In another radio interview, the embattled General Secretary, noted that he was not bothered by the happenings, describing the attacks on his person as vile propaganda to get him out of office.
He stated cynically that he has shock absorbers to neutralize missiles intended to make him lose the elections.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah appealed to delegates to vote for him massively to retain his post.
He stated that “Allotey Jacobs just expressed his opinion and I have no problem with that but it will not affect my campaign.”
The General Secretary bemoaned the acrimonious campaigning in the NDC ahead of the primaries.
